Account Director

to join our bi-coastal entertainment and events media relations team, located in our Los Angeles office. The ideal candidate has experience working in entertainment – either on events (awards shows, premieres, festivals, industry events), on content (film, TV/streaming series, podcasts, etc.), and/or with content creators or talent. This candidate must have entertainment media relationships -- from People Magazine to The Hollywood Reporter. They know how to develop a compelling story, they have relationships and experience necessary to land impactful media placements, and they understand the broader industry and media landscape.The ideal candidate understands how to develop strategic campaigns for entertainment projects, cultivate out-of-the-box ideas, and drive engagement online and offline. They are passionate about bringing entertainment moments to life and they understand how to work with talent, partners, vendors, and other teams without skipping a beat.The candidate will work on a mix of entertainment clients, so it’s important that they be curious, open-minded, and flexible. They see this as a challenge and opportunity to grow their skills.This candidate should have experience managing people. Our Account Directors lead accounts with little-to-no oversight – this includes counseling clients, providing fresh ideas unprompted, motivating teams, ensuring goals are being met and they still pitch!Our agency is integrated, and our Account Directors frequently work on accounts that involve aspects of brand integration, talent and influencer integration, digital strategy, etc. While we don’t expect you to be fluent in all of these areas, we anticipate that this will excite you!You Should Apply If:You have at least 8 years of experience working in an agency setting or relevant industryYou’ve managed a team with direct oversight for at least 2 years (of those 7 mentioned above) of 2-5 people and have a proven track record and developing them in their careers.You have experience overseeing events and working in entertainmentYou have established relationships with entertainment and consumer mediaYou are comfortable leading an account with team members in other offices/geographiesYou are a skilled and highly-organized project managerYou see and set big picture strategy at a higher levelYou live by the “we, not me” mentalityYou maintain a strong network of media contacts and have a track record of placing strategic high-level storiesYou’re willing to work select evenings/weekends and travel when necessaryYou enjoy overdelivering rather than meeting expectations and take genuine pride in being part of something good.Responsibilities Include:Leading account teams and managing projects from start to finish.Responding to client requests and ensure requests are taken care of in an efficient manner.Developing and executing comprehensive integrated media and communications strategies for entertainment projects (events, content, content creators).Developing an impactful and trusting relationship with clientsCreating new business proposals as needed.Partnering and collaborating with senior-level colleagues throughout the agency on integrated (and bi-coastal) accounts.Training and mentoring junior staff on the inner workings and executions of PR, media relations, and overall client management.
