$100 to $140KStorm4 is partnered with a large EPC organization in the US that focuses on design, management, and construction of utility-scale solar projects.They are building out their team and are looking for a Substation Design Manager with construction experience in utility-scale solar to join their team.
This position requires previous utility-scale solar construction experience of at least 2 years.Responsibilities:Review the overall substation concept design, collaborating closely with substation and PV engineers.Assist in creating concept designs during feasibility and tendering stages before the contract and detailed designs during the execution phase.Participate in site walks, commissioning kickoff meetings, and training sessions, providing technical support during project execution as needed.Identify and analyze root causes of design nonconformities and commissioning-related deficiencies, reporting findings to the project team.Collaborate with local utilities and grid operators in developing energization documentation and assist in preparing manuals and commissioning plans.Understand and manage client project-specific success criteria (CPSSC), particularly regarding the owner's business needs, requirements, and revenue generation, offering tailored solutions.Supervise, direct, coach, train, and mentor both direct and indirect reports.Contribute to the development and implementation of the Project Execution Plan.Qualifications:Diploma/engineering degree in a related discipline - engineering preferred.7+ years of experience, with a minimum of 2 years in utility-scale solar construction.Experienced in substation design, including protection and control with knowledge in SCADA.Experience in substation testing and commissioning for grid synchronization.Experience in implementing a strong safety culture.Strong verbal and written communication skills, plus strong problem-solving skills.Why Apply?Career progressionMission-driven company driving sustainabilityGreat benefitsYou should apply if you want to join an exciting company that is a leader in the space and are passionate about renewable energy.
