We are seeking an editor/proofreader who will be responsible for verification of information in final printed secondary packaging component artwork against Editor’s copy documents for accuracy and consistency. This role involves a technical review of secondary packaging components. Responsibilities include reviewing and proofreading various types of content, such as product listings, website copy, emails, blogs, video scripts, user manuals, print materials (e.g., recipe books), packaging, social media, and visual assets.

Key Responsibilities

Read, understand, and follow all work instructions via project management work orders and systems defined by workflow processes.Proofread packaging copy electronically at all stages of the creative and adaptive/PA process to correct errors in type, grammar, and punctuation, enforcing consistency.Check that overall package appearance conforms to relevant brand style guides.Confirm UPC codes, trademarks, phone numbers, and other ancillary packaging components are correct and up to date.Communicate and collaborate efficiently with all team members.Meet deadlines and deliver high-quality, error-free content.Maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment to ensure no grammatical errors are made, or consumer usability is compromised.Ensure all content adheres to the style guide.Assist in the development of content policies and procedures.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Strong grammar skills, a close eye for detail, and a strong work ethic.Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team of proofreaders.Ability to adapt to company-specific tasks and workflow and become an expert on company-specific style preferences.Basic math skills (including calculating percentage changes).Bonus for experience with Photoshop and video editing software like Premiere and After Effects.Desirable: Various educational backgrounds—from English to science—are valuable to proofreading.Good communication skills, verbal and written.Computer aptitude (file management; experience working with documents in the cloud or online).
