What You'll Be Working On

What’s the role?The Etsy Ads Group helps buyers navigate Etsy’s vast, unique inventory to effortlessly find and discover high-quality items that they can’t find anywhere else. Regardless of platform, language, or location, recommendations on Etsy should feel compelling and relevant. For this role, we’re looking for a Product Designer to support multiple projects across the Buyer experience, from initial inspiration through post-purchase.

This designer will be joining an existing team passionate about helping buyers navigate the breadth and depth of Etsy’s inventory. As a primary focus, you will build buyer confidence and reduce overwhelm by showing the right information at the right moment in their shopping mission.

We are looking for someone who can collaborate with a team of cross-functional partners in product management, engineering, research, and analytics. You’ll work closely with your Product Design Manager to prioritize the most impactful projects while ensuring you have the focus, clarity, and time to deliver high-quality design work.

What is Product Design at Etsy?Typically, product designers at Etsy work in a squad with a product manager, 3-5 engineers, researcher, and analyst. Together they drive their own part of Etsy, deliver solutions to challenging problems and get feedback directly from customers.

Day To Day, It Looks Like:Discovering insights, opportunities, and requirements.Testing prototypes and hypotheses with users to collect feedback.Launching experiments and evaluating how they perform and how to iterate.Presenting your work to peers and leadership, async and in-person.Taking part in weekly design critiques, workshops, all hands and squad meetings.Thinking and writing about your process and documenting your decisions.
