Doing this requires a deep knowledge of their diverse users, how they interact with our product, and their expectations in order to ensure they feel equitably treated and included in their experiences with products. UX writers are an important part of their cross-functional team and in shaping their narrative and user experience.

Responsibilities

Manage and prioritize multiple projects and stakeholders to meet aggressive deadlines

Write clear and concise UI

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., design, research, product and eng) to define and align on requirements

Proactively solicit feedback and ensure changes are implemented in a timely manner

Ensure consistent experiences and partner on ramps, uphold UXW standards and guidelines

Create A11y and localization documentation for assigned projects

Provide copywriting/editing support to Photos UXW, as needed

Minimum Qualifications

4+ years of experience as a UX writer, tech writer, content strategist or similar

BA/BS degree in English, communications, HCI, journalism, a writing-intensive humanities discipline, or equivalent practical experience

Portfolio of UX-focused writing samples and style guidelines

Experience working in hardware, software, digital agency, customer support documentation, or related field

Familiarity with web and mobile UI design principles and practices

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent writing and editing skills for a broad range of audiences

Strong prioritization, organization, and project management skills; ability to find the right balance between process and flexibility

Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment

Self-driven with ability to work independently

Experience working with user research, data, and customer feedback; ability to synthesize these into specific content choices as well as a broader content strategy

Experience with localization practices and accessibility.

Experience writing content for a digital subscription product and/or onboarding and educating users for digital products

Basic knowledge of a design tool like Figma or Sketch

Familiarity with online UX writing technology and related products, including web and mobile UI and tools

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $75 to $80 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
