Buck Mason is seeking a men’s technical designer with Men's Denim, Bottoms, & Outerwear experience to oversee the development of ready-to-wear pieces. You will be responsible for developing technical packages, creating specs, evaluating garments for consistent fit and construction, and running fittings, in addition to coordinating between factories and the design team.

Technical Designer Responsibilities:

Knowledge of garment construction, fit, balance, fabric, and finishing.Lead fittings and identify fit corrections to achieve final approvals, taking detailed notes in fit sessions.Accurately evaluate and spec samples to determine compliance with specs, construction, and assess overall garment quality.Communicate accurate and precise garment corrections to domestic and overseas vendors without supervisor oversight to ensure quality sample submits.Incorporate fit feedback into fittings to constantly improve the product.Ensure all samples are fit and comments are processed within a timely manner.Collaborate with Design and Product Development team to ensure design intent is executed and the highest quality of fit, construction, and workmanship is achieved.Requirements:

Meets deadlines, prioritizes appropriately, copes well with change, and maintains composure under pressure. Works well individually, as well as with a team.Prepare technical specification packages with garment construction details for our vendors.Provide vendors with additional corrective action recommendations illustrated by photos, diagrams, and follow up via email communication and video calls as needed.Provide technical recommendations and resolutions for fit and construction issues.Adhere to department standards and best practices for product fit and process compliance.Working knowledge of pattern making, garment construction, basic grading, and vendor/factory communication.Qualifications:

Experience in Bottoms, Denim, Outerwear.3-5 years of prior work experience in Technical Design or Patternmaking.In-depth knowledge of fabric, apparel, materials, construction, and fit.On-site.
