Communications and Consumer Product Manager

Redwood Materials is seeking a Communications and Consumer Product Manager who

will spearhead the strategic development and execution of our consumer program and brand strategy while driving external communications and Redwood’s narrative. This leader will build and accelerate programs and events that spread awareness and create pathways for consumer products to be recycled into new sustainable batteries; the core channel for Redwood’s brand and story. They will create and cultivate relationships that help customers grow the Redwood mission and turn the public into advocates for recycling and building local circular supply chains. Their focus on external communications, marketing and consumer education will play a critical role in Redwood’s success and enhanced reputation in the community.

Responsibilities will include:

Develop and execute a comprehensive grassroots consumer education strategy that engages and cultivates relationships with consumers, non-profits, educators, advocates, and key opinion leaders through marketing campaigns and community engagement.

Develop the Redwood story and brand to change consumer behavior and drive traffic to our Consumer Recycling Programs, leveraging national partnerships and store fronts to host Redwood collection boxes around the country and enhance Redwood’s brand awareness.

Drive external communications and media relations:

Promote positions and manage local messaging regarding energy, battery recycling, sustainability, circular supply chain and Redwood news.

Manage relationships with reporters and industry, business, and technology press to place strategic narratives nationally that tell the Redwood story.

Work cross-functionally with external and internal stakeholders to ensure that our consumer education strategy and external communications are aligned with business objectives and cross-departmental efforts.

Desired Qualifications:

6+ years in public affairs, communications, events planning, campaigns, or nonprofits.

Experience working across fast-paced organizations to develop and execute new ideas, campaigns, and strategies.

Experience compiling and analyzing data to develop strategic insights and plans.

Proven ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.

Team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with external stakeholders and cross functional internal colleagues and leadership.

An understanding of and excitement for sustainability and the EV industry.

Exceptional verbal and written communication, relationship, and analytical skills.

A passion for sustainability and making the world a better place!
