The Communication Specialist is responsible for supporting the national and local communication needs of the organization and its business leaders by driving and executing various communication initiatives and programs. Working with the Communications Director, the position will help manage the day-to-day execution of employee and company communication efforts, including but not limited to the company intranets and websites, executive communications, newsletters, editorial calendar, internal brand standards, employee engagement activities, company presentations, culture programs, communications support for business change initiatives, etc. The Communications Specialist will be responsible for building visual, compelling and engaging internal and external company presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint. This is a fast-paced role involving project management, creative writing, editing, design and content development.Position Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Designing visually compelling and engaging PowerPoint presentations for company needsCoordinating, drafting, editing, and publishing communications through newsletters, email, intranet, video and other media as appropriateProviding support to departments and companies in order to identify internal messages, content opportunities, and their internal communication needsSupporting Communications team in planning and executing company meetings, events, and special projectsDeveloping resources and materials to help recruit, hire and retain the best talentHelping lead the initial drafting of executive memos and all employee communicationsDesigning and implementing internal communication that reinforce company cultureAdministering creative solutions for internal communicationsOther projects or duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or related field2+ years of related experience in roles with progressively more responsibilityMust be highly skilled in Microsoft PowerPointExcellent writing, spelling, and grammar skillsExperience with electronic communications (intranet, video, social media)Experience working in a fast-paced environment within a Corporate organizationAbility to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writingGood listening skills and ability to understand issuesIndependent, results-oriented with a strong work ethicMust be able to take ownership of projects from conception to completionStrategic and innovative thinking skillsEffective stakeholder engagementStrong knowledge and consistent use of technology; proficiency in MS Office suiteBasic working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud including Illustrator, InDesign, PhotoshopStrong organizational skillsThis position must pass a post-offer background and drug testPreferred Skills and Experience:Knowledge of food and beverage distribution industry and trendsExperience with SharePointExperience with content designPhysical Demands and Work Environment:
