Advertised Job Summary: The College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management (HRSM) seeks an accomplished applicant to fill the Director of Graduate Marketing and Recruitment position. This leadership role in the College of HRSM, is pivotal in developing and executing strategies to attract, enroll, and retain high-quality graduate students in our diverse array of HRSM programs, including the Department of Retailing, the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, and the Department of Sport and Entertainment Management. The position leads marketing, recruitment, and yield strategies in HRSM to build its pool of diverse, qualified applicants, and to ultimately select and enroll excellent students for masters, doctoral, and certificate programs offered through in person, hybrid, and online delivery formats. The role’s primary strategic objective is to contribute to the depth and diversity of the prospective applicant pool by building and delivering the communication strategy for prospective students, including, but not limited to, CRM management, SEO and SEM oversight, email campaigns, web and social media content and information session presentations, and chatbot and live chat communication. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 5 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience. Preferred Qualifications: A master’s degree and five (5) experience in student services programs. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong leadership and team management skills, with a collaborative approach to working across multiple departments/constituencies. Ability to handle multiple tasks and audiences, plan and work under a fast-paced schedule/calendar. Possess high energy, initiative, and demonstrate enthusiasm for the programs and position. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders. Proficient in using CRM systems, application management systems, and SEO and SEM tools. Social media web management experience, ideally in a professional context. Job Duty: Develop and implement comprehensive graduate enrollment marketing and recruitment strategies that align with the college’s goals and objectives. Lead the development and execution of marketing campaigns and recruitment efforts, leveraging various platforms and tools to increase the visibility and appeal of HRSM’s graduate programs. Essential Function: Yes Percentage of Time: 25 Job Duty: Oversee the utilization and optimization of the college’s customer relationship management (CRM) system to enhance recruitment and enrollment processes; attend all CRM (currently Target X) communication planning meetings; Represent the interests of the college in Graduate School meetings related to enrollment management; Oversee all formatting, testing, and scheduling of graduate email campaigns and other messaging within the college’s CRM platform; and manage and improve the college’s graduate application system to ensure a seamless and user-friendly experience for prospective students. Essential Function: Yes Percentage of Time: 30 Job Duty: Work with the college’s marketing division and other marketing partners to implement SEO and SEM strategies to improve the college’s online presence/reach to and attract prospective students through organic search traffic. Use data-driven insights to refine recruitment strategies, track progress, and report on key metrics related to enrollment goals. Essential Function: Yes Percentage of Time: 15 Job Duty: Work closely with college leadership, faculty, staff, and other university departments to support graduate enrollment initiatives and enhance the overall prospective student experience. Work closely with the HRSM marketing and communications office to ensure seamless communication within university guidelines across multiple platforms promoting the college brand to graduate prospects. Essential Function: Yes Percentage of Time: 10 Job Duty: Lead the graduate marketing and recruitment team and coordinate with the Assistant Dean for Enrollment Management and Professional Development and graduate program directors to execute a comprehensive communication schedule which follows prospects, applicants, admits and enrolled students. This includes identifying the themes of the messaging campaign for each prospect stream, then articulating the messages and finalizing layouts with graphics, call to action, dates of release, and appropriate follow up messaging to responses. Additionally, they will lead graduate enrollment communication in other channels such as social media, webinars and virtual information sessions, chatbots and live chat, and SMS/text messaging. Essential Function: Yes Percentage of Time: 10 Job Duty: Create visual images, text, and talking points for all public presentations used in graduate recruitment and yield for on-campus (e.g., information sessions, graduate school inquiry initiatives), off-campus (e.g., information sessions, university visits, conferences) and e-events (e.g., virtual information sessions, webinars and chats). Represents the HRSM graduate admissions and recruitment events on and off campus to promote graduate degree programs offered in the college.
