Stewart Simmons is hiring an Associate Designer to assist with the conceptual and technical design of future collections. The Associate Designer will be expected to transform creative ideas into full-package garments.Key Responsibilities:Support all steps of the design processResearch relevant trends and ideas for new bodies, fabrications, graphics, prints, and other design detailsPresent new ideas that demonstrate brand-right productsAssemble creative and/or trend boards for internal presentationsBuild and maintain line sheets for retailer buying needsCommunicate with suppliers and manufacturers on specific needs for each collectionCoordinate sampling process and timelinesPrepare collections for development including drawing tech flatsDevelop and execute graphics for garments, prepare final files for suppliersManage samples for fittings and assist with fittings and refining fitManage all design filesOwn design details throughout the manufacturing processResponsible for achieving calendar deadlines for all stages of designWhile these are the key responsibilities, note that Stewart Simmons is a nimble team operating in a dynamic industry. As such, you will be given a large amount of responsibility and will be expected to be agile and proactive.
