Interior Design Assistant

AboutNikole Starr Interiors is pursuing a talented individual to be part of our growing firm. NSI is seeking a qualified Design Assistant to play a key role in supporting lead designers and projects from initial conceptual design to construction. This opportunity calls for someone that is a self-starter, detail-oriented and has the ability to multi-task multiple projects with similar deadlines.ResponsibilitiesDevelop detailed design plans, including floor plans, elevations, and material specifications.Maintain sample library and keep it updated and orderly.Request samples, request quotes from vendors and create proposals.To work directly with team to create finish and fixtures selections and specifications, including millwork, cabinetry, tile, appliances, plumbing, and lighting for high-end kitchen and bath remodeling projects with a high level of accuracy.Develop design boards and other visual communication techniques such as 3D modeling to communicate an overall design concept and finish and fixture selections.Provide design support and administration during completion and execution of design concepts.Source and work with outside vendors to procure and coordinate drapery, custom furniture, wallpaper installers and the like.Manage multiple projects at once.Ability to work well under pressure, juggle and prioritize multiple projects and adjust work accordingly, to meet deadlinesQualificationsDegree in interior design or related field.Proficient at AutoCAD.Sketch-up modeling knowledge a plus.Knowledge of design requirements, construction methods and materials for high end residential environments.Strong visual, oral, and written communication skills.Ability to work self-sufficiently and think independently.Knowledge of furniture, fabric and finishes.Positive with an open attitude - we have no egos here!Deadline driven, self motivated and goal oriented with a high attention to detail.Full-Time PositionFor immediate review and consideration, contact: Nikole Starr -
