We are looking for an Assistant Director to join the Random House Children's Books Trade Marketing team. Random House Children's Books is home to bestselling and award-winning trade authors and illustrators from Nic Stone (author of Dear Martin) and Karen McManus (One of Us Is Lying), to Nicola Yoon (Everything, Everything and The Sun Is Also a Star), Holly Jackson (A Good Girl's Guide to Murder), Christopher Paolini (The Inheritance Cycle), and more.

Reporting to the Senior Director, the Assistant Director will lead the Young Adult Marketing team in developing and executing title and brand campaigns as well as overseeing the full frontlist and backlist strategy. The Assistant Director and their team will work closely with the with the Audience Engagement, Publicity, and School & Library Marketing teams to develop and execute frontlist and backlist title campaigns to reach booksellers, teens, and crossover readers to create awareness and drive sales at retail and direct to consumer through advertising, social media promotion, partnerships, and promotion at events and festivals.

Responsibilities include:

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of three marketers, providing guidance and support to ensure team successDevelop and execute marketing campaign plans and materials for select frontlist and backlist Young Adult titlesDevelop and manage marketing budgets for assigned titles, ensuring effective allocation of resourcesCollaborate with Design, Digital Marketing, School & Library Marketing, and Publicity to ensure cohesive marketing plans and messagingRepresent campaigns, event strategy, and other opportunities in meetings with internal and external stakeholdersUtilize market research and analytics to monitor trends and optimize marketing strategies and target audiencesPlan or oversee planning for select consumer shows and festivals, working closely with a team of key team members across Marketing and Publicity, including managing key show dates, materials, budgets, deadlines, and regular show meetings and their agendas, action items, follow-ups, and notesAttend key consumer shows regularly, virtually, and in-personProvide additional support to the Senior Director as neededRequirements/Qualifications:

At least 8-10 years of experience in marketing. Book marketing is preferred.Interest in working with books for young adults (books for ages 13 and up) a must. Experience working with or reaching YA readers and audiences a plus!Proven experience in management and leadershipHighly organized with the ability to communicate effectively and efficientlySelf-motivated worker comfortable working independently as well as with a teamAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and remain solution-orientedWillingness to learn and collaborate

The salary range for this position is $80,000-$88,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
