Position Specific Summary

Position Overview:

The Graduate Assistant for Special Projects is a critical member of the Central team within the Division for Student Affairs (DSA) at George Washington University. This role offers a unique opportunity to work collaboratively on various projects that support the strategic goals of the DSA. Responsibilities will span office operations, event planning and execution, communication and marketing, digital system maintenance, and more.

Key Responsibilities:Provide comprehensive support for the Vice President for Student Affairs (VPSA) calendar, including scheduling, writing and preparing briefing materials, creating executive summaries, managing email correspondence, and preparing both print and digital materials.Collaborate on a wide range of projects, including office operations, strategic initiatives, event planning and execution, and the design and implementation of communication and marketing plans.Maintain DSA websites, manage digital systems and assessment tools, and assist with internal process creation and management.Assist in the management of special projects by collecting and maintaining data, coordinating meetings, organizing project files, performing research, and communicating with stakeholders and the project team.Support leadership development programs for students and potentially supervise other student staff members.Perform additional administrative and project-specific tasks as assigned.Standard Position Description

The student will manage and/or design marketing and communication strategies and content for departments and/or special events. Tasks may include: Planning, creating, managing and executing marketing plans and campaigns, website resources, digital content and design, and/or managing of social media accounts. While completing work with a high degree of discretion, the student will work within organization marketing standards and guidelines. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental needs.
