Position SummaryCannon Building, a leading general contractor specializing in life science, healthcare, commercial/institutional, and industrial construction, is seeking an experienced graphic designer.The Graphic Design Associate is responsible to both lead and assist the Cannon Building Team throughout all stages of project pursuits, including development of strategic, professional, and compelling material in support of qualification packages and proposals. Must have proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).This position reports to the VP of Marketing as well as the Director of Life Science Construction and the Director of Healthcare Construction. This position interfaces with all levels within the company the performance of day-to-day responsibilities. This position requires a strong focus on meeting deadlines, exceptional multitasking skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities.ResponsibilitiesMarketing Department Responsibilities:o Reporting: The Graphic Design Associate, will report to the VP of Marketing and will participate in marketing meetings to ensure alignment with company branding strategies.o Day-to-Day Management: Daily activities will be directed by the Directors of Life Science and Healthcare Construction, while media requests and branding decisions will be directed by the VP of Marketing.o Media Requests: The associate will collaborate with the marketing team to assist with collateral material requests from the business development team, ensuring that branding and messaging are consistent across all platforms.o Social Media & Event Graphics: The associate will develop graphics for social media posts and assist in creating visual content for company events and campaigns.o Marketing Support: The associate will partner with the marketing team to ensure the design and production of materials meet the needs of external communication, business development, and event planning efforts.o Branding & Messaging: The associate will ensure all materials support Cannon Building's messaging and business objectives, maintaining consistency across all communications.o Website Management: The associate will oversee and update the company website, ensuring content is current and aligned with branding and business objectives.o Photography Management: The associate will manage company photography, including archiving and maintaining and will interface with HR to take headshots of employees during the onboarding process.Estimating Department Responsibilities:

The graphic design associate will assist in Project Planning and Coordination, working with teams to coordinate and develop Qualifications Packages, RFP Responses, and Interview Presentations/ Materials.o Reporting: The associate will report to the Director of Life Science Construction and the Director of Healthcare Construction. Depending on the business sector, this position will report to the RFP Lead in the Estimating Department and will collaborate with the estimating and business development teams to support the development of RFP responses, qualifications packages, and interview materials.o Proposal & Interview Materials: The associate will work closely with project teams to ensure cohesive messaging and branding for proposals and interviews, adapting materials based on the specific needs of each project.o Content Development: The associate will continuously improve the content and design of proposals and interview presentations to align with company goals and branding.o Timeline Coordination: The associate will collaborate with the team lead to identify deliverable deadlines and ensure the timely completion of drafts and final materials.o Document & Presentation Creation: The associate will organize and compile all content into unified documents or presentations, ensuring a consistent and professional brand image.Travel Requirements:o Some travel may be required. This position is based out of the Placentia office with travel to job sites, the San Diego office, or special events as needed in Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, or San Diego counties.Qualifications and RequirementsConstruction Experience: Minimum 1-2 years' experience in construction preferred but not required.o A successful candidate will continually develop an understanding of construction, architecture and/or engineering industry.Educational Background: Minimum of a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field preferred.Excellent Written and Communication Skills:o Candidates must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interaction with clients, stakeholders, team members, and other project participants.o Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.o Excellent verbal and written communication skills; content development/storytelling.Technical Proficiency: Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, PDF management (Bluebeam/Acrobat), and Microsoft Outlook/SharePoint. Must have experience in Adobe Create Suite, must be able to use Illustrator to create and manipulate files.Strategic and Analytical Thinking: Analytical skills to identify trends and challenges; offer new ideas.
