Content Marketing Specialist

Alliance Defending Freedom is looking for a highly creative and strategic

Content Marketing Specialist

to join us in our Scottsdale, AZ Office. As a Content Marketing Specialist, you are a vital part of the Church & Ministry Alliance (CMA) team. In this role, you will report to the Director of Communications and Operations on the CMA team and are responsible for crafting compelling, Gospel-centered content across various platforms while also ensuring that all materials align with our brand guidelines and mission. Your responsibilities span content creation, curation, and editorial oversight, serving to both engage our members and enhance brand awareness.

Your Essential Responsibilities:

Brainstorm and ideate interesting, timely, and relevant content topics based on existing keyword research, current legal guides, trending news, and cases.

Write and shape various types of content, such as search engine-optimized blogs, emails, newsletters (The Grapevine), member spotlights, video scripts, website copy, webinars, and social media posts (LinkedIn and Facebook).

Create compelling, action-oriented marketing materials, including emails, display and print advertisements, and digital campaign copy.

Translate complex concepts and legal explanations into succinct, compelling updates. Write in a manner that is simple, concrete, and engaging, effectively incorporating scriptural references.

Develop thought leadership and editorial content that provides value to ministry leaders and builds the CMA brand.

Edit content to make it accessible and engaging, quickly answering why readers should care and how it affects them. Ensure content is in our brand’s voice and grammatically correct.

Help with placement/getting guest posting opportunities in various outlets and publications.

Stay up to date on new developments and trends in the church and ministry world.

Collaborate with the Regional Alliance Directors to produce content that drives new memberships through our many partners.

Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners to enhance content reach and impact.

Skills you need to succeed:

Knowledge of:

Understanding of writing principles and techniques for digital writing (including strong subject lines, the use of headings, hyperlinks, multimedia, calls to action, and other digital and search engine optimization (SEO) elements).

Possess a nuanced understanding of the Gospel-Centered denominational landscape within Christianity. While we remain rooted in the core tenets of the Gospel, a refined awareness of these nuances will guide our respectful engagement with an ecumenical audience.

Demonstrated proficiency in:

Strong creative and persuasive writing skills.

Strategic thinking and the ability to develop innovative content strategies.

Building and maintaining professional relationships with stakeholders and partners.

Ability to:

Multitask with a strong attention to detail.

Think creatively, problem-solve, and be flexible.

Navigate a review process that includes various opinions and ensure the integrity of the end product.

Take initiative and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Work cross-team to clearly define a project, deliver it on time, and stay on budget.

Work effectively both cross-team and independently.

Education and/or experience:

Bachelor’s degree in English, theology, journalism, communications, marketing, or related field.

3+ years of writing experience.
