Job Description

Digital Service, a department of the University of Missouri Marketing & Communications, seeks a WEB DEVELOPER I who demonstrates strategic and creative thinking and problem solving in building, maintaining, modifying, and planning customer-facing websites. You will be responsible for working within a team of Web Developers, front end designers and backend content management and hosting programmers to develop, maintain and support websites that support the marketing and communications goals of the University of Missouri. The successful candidate has experience with Drupal, has strong website development and design skills, and is eager to support websites that meet the needs of the audiences utilizing University of Missouri websites.Digital Service provides and supports the website technology and supporting systems for all colleges and schools on the Columbia, MO campus, the University of Missouri System websites and many core business unit websites. We work with faculty, staff and students across Mizzou, vendors, and affiliated groups to meet their digital communications needs.Key ResponsibilitiesWriting efficient code using HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, etc.Working with preferred university content management system - WordPress.Creating websites using standard HTML/CSS practices.Working closely with designers and programmers to produce websites.Research web technologies and maintain documentation.Adheres to university standards for branding, technology and accessibility.Maintain and expand or enhance websites once built.Troubleshoot problems to provide a high level of customer satisfaction.

Shift

Mon-Fri 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Central

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computing or a related degree with equivalent experience.Knowledge and experience using university-preferred content management system (WordPress) to create and maintain websites.

Anticipated Hiring Range
