The Bioanalytics Systems & Technologies Group focuses on driving analytics to take advantage of vast and rapidly expanding biological datasets to address national security needs. The Group's efforts include developing software architectures and systems, bioinformatics tools, and AI algorithms to further the nation's efforts in chemical and biological defense, biosecurity, public and global health and warfighter performance.Associate Staff - UX/UI EngineerThe Bioanalytics Systems & Technologies Group focuses on driving analytics to take advantage of vast and rapidly expanding biological datasets to address national security needs. The Group's efforts include developing software architectures and systems, bioinformatics tools, and AI algorithms to further the nation's efforts in chemical and biological defense, biosecurity, public and global health and warfighter performance.Our group is seeking a highly motivated UX/UI engineer to join our diverse and multi-functional UI/UX team. In this role, you will be an integral part of the day-to-day iterative design and prototyping, contributing to the enhancement and development of our group's growing set of data science enabling platforms and decision support tools for meeting the needs of the US Government. You will have the opportunity to work with key stakeholders to drive human-centered design of systems, and work on technical components to deliver on those designs. The technical components would include design/development of component libraries, user interfaces, standard operating procedures, create UX documentation, conduct user testing, and determine content strategy for different features.RequirementsMaster's in UX Design, Computer Science or related field; In lieu of a Master's degree, a Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience will be considered.Knowledge of UX processes and UI design.Experience in user research and testing.Experience in working with key UX/UI tools, developing wireframes using Sketch/Figma and othersAbility to do front-end development or basic analytics a plusProficiency in interacting with stakeholders both to gather/understand user needs and conduct user testing/evaluationsStrong teamwork skills and the ability to work collaboratively and independently.Excellent communications (written and oral) skills.
