LinQuest is seeking an Enterprise Satellite Communication System Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Headquarters Space Operations Command (HQ SpOC) - SATCOM Mission Area Team (MAT) located at Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO.An active TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered for this job.The HQ SpOC generates, presents, and sustains combat-ready intelligence, cyber, space and combat support forces and serves as the USSF Service Component to USSPACECOM.A strong candidate has a comprehensive knowledge of satellite communications (SATCOM) systems, satellite transmissions, management, satellite system control, and operational procedures.Responsibilities:Provide operations, sustainment, and engineering technical analysis and support for the USSF Enterprise SATCOM architecture for Commercial and Enterprise SATCOM systemsReview, coordinate, and advise on SATCOM operating processes and procedures and provide technical support of material system development and fieldingProvide technical operational/engineering expertise for resolution of operational issues/problems related to space, ground and terminal segmentsDevelop and interpret broad DoD Space, and SATCOM policies and regulations, existing policies, and regulations in relation to HQ USSF program goals and objectivesProvide analysis and recommended methods for improving efficiency of SATCOM functions through modifications and applications of evolving technology, developing tactics, techniques, and proceduresDevelop Policy and procedures meeting Operational Integration and Mission Delivery requirementsCoordinate across multiple services, commands, and agencies supporting the Operational Acceptance processDevelop Concepts of Operations, System Concepts, and Operational Acceptance Plans for supported systemsAnalyze and provide recommendations in regard to technical functions of satellite payloads and ground station architecturesTravel may be required quarterly for a limited durations to support Customer events
Required Skills/Experience:Experience in providing strategic advice and recommendations, technical guidance, and analysis and recommendations on current and future SATCOM systemsDemonstrated ability to prepare quality products including briefings, point/position papers, and staff packages for senior leadersAbility to multi-task and quickly pivot across multiple work responsibilities in a dynamic environment in response to staff taskingsAbility to work with internal and external senior leaders, offices, directorates, and action officersMethodical mindset: Able to follow troubleshooting protocols, solve problems, prepare recommendations, and clearly document solutionsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent Microsoft Office application skillsThe ability to work in a secure, confined location (i.e., SCIF)
Preferred Skills/Experience:Experience with SATCOM systems/platforms (e.g. WGS, Commercial, AEHF, MUOS, ground terminals, planning tools)Headquarters Staff experience for a Service, Combatant Command, Field/Major Command, or equivalentExperience with Joint- or Service-level strategy and/or concept developmentExperience with Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) processesExperience with Operations Integration and SustainmentExperience with Narrowband, Wideband, Protected band, and/or DoD Commercial SATCOM
Compensation:
