Design Engineer

Job Description

Systems Designer: Designer will develop and maintain a working knowledge of customer standards as well as equipment and application requirements, applying these in their design work and mechanical installation drawings and details. Key responsibilities include applying engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout and design, interpreting engineering sketches, specifications, or drawings, and researching/reviewing customer specifications to ensure compliance. The engineer will collaborate with project team members, including design engineers, project engineers, project managers, and customers, to ensure project requirements are met. Additionally, they will work with the Project Engineer to establish an engineering design plan and schedule, ensure design compliance with client and customer standards, and travel to customer facilities to conduct site surveys and document as-built conditions. Utilization of AutoCAD and/or Inventor software to create and edit material handling system designs is also required.

Machine Designer: 5+ years experience with production machine design. Candidates will be experienced with SolidWorks, Inventor, or other 3D Modeling Software to design parts, parametric weldments and assemblies, as well as explode assembly drawings.. Application knowledge of pneumatic, vacuum, and hydraulic components. Must have knowledge of AC motors and DC servo motors. Draft technical documentation to support sales, procurement, production, deployment and maintenance of new products.

Hard Skills

Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Inventor CAD software

Develop conveyor system layouts and mechanical installation drawings

Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical conveyor/installation design

Associates Degree or higher in Computer Drafting and Design or similar technical program

Soft Skills

Strong collaboration with project team members

Effective communication with customers

Attention to detail in drawing and design specifications

Adaptability to make drawing corrections/revisions as needed

Capability to report drawing status and maintain project schedule

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

Work Environment

Office environment with team sitting in two different offices. Standard working hours are 8-5 with some overtime required. Business casual attire.
