The Ranger Group, a leading US Engineering Solutions provider to companies across the Aerospace & Defense, Medical Device, Electronics and Industrial Manufacturing industries, is currently seeking a Mechanical Designer for a Contract role with a leading Manufacturing client in the Scottsdale Area. This role will require work to be completed 100% Onsite.POSITION: Mechanical DesignerSummary:This position designs mechanical and structural components using AutoCAD software. Provides general arrangement, structural, and shop drawings to fab shop and field crews. Works at the lead engineer's direction on product development projects.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:- Create and develop design concepts, detailed plans, and specifications for mechanical devices and equipment.- Use CAD software to create 2D drawings, 3D models, or other documents that depict the design of mechanical components and systems.- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure designs meet all technical requirements, can be made efficiently, and are cost-effective.- Ensure designs meet all relevant quality and safety standards, codes, and regulations and are compliant with industry-specific requirements.- Analyze potential problems that could arise during the manufacturing process and recommend any solutions to solve these issues.- Document accurate records of the design process and any test analytics.- Maintain and mange project timelines, resources, and budget.- Document design progress, changes, and decisions via internal and external online collaboration workspaces.- Create supporting technical presentations, documents, and reports as needed.- Create engineering drawings (layout, detail, interface control, general arrangement, etc.) per ASME 14.1 and Y14.5 standards.- Check and review drawings for accuracy of information and conformance to ASME drafting standards via electronic redline process.ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:- Trade School, Associates degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Design/Engineering- 4+ years of combined experience in AutoCAD and some Autodesk Inventor- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards- Knowledge of the manufacturing industry- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and best practices- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.- Strong attention to detail- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Ability to pass a background and drug screening.- Experience checking fabrication drawings.- Experience in Mechanical and Machine Design- Organized and detail oriented, with excellent writing and communication skills.- Develop multiple design options/concepts quickly for design review discussions as requested.- Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills- Ability to work multiple tasks concurrently with minimal direction.- The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trustworthiness and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.- Manage project bill of material and generate detailed reports.- Perform department administration duties, including writing reports, taking measurements, and assisting in overall project planning.- Communicate with vendors as needed.- Support production during project fabrication.- Knowledge of sheet metal and welded fabrication.
