Position Overview:

Thoroughly inspect products to the appearance standards, job books, and customer specifications for Class surfaces, packing, and labeling requirements to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Essential Job Functions

Defect Recognition - Ability to utilize quality tools to measure particle sizes and determine acceptance based on the appearance standards / job books.Knowledge of surface class call out for accurate inspectionAble to make decision on parts being audited for accept /reject statusAbility to track data on tracer sheets for accurate defect reportingComprehensive understanding of label verifications, packaging and validation of complianceAbility to work independently, with all quality tools, and efficiently to ensure customer shipping commitmentsPerform other job functions as assigned

Requirements

Experience in inspection of painted productsComprehension in appearance standards, measuring tools

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Consistently meet or exceed established productivity and quality levels.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
