When Macon, GA made a bold move to bring baseball back to Historic Luther Williams Field in 2018, they did it in partnership with two industry veterans who literally wrote the book on ticket sales, Steve DeLay and Jon Spoelstra.

The first seven seasons of the Macon Bacon have been a smashing success with more than half the games being sold out. The Macon Bacon have become a national sensation and we're looking for our next superstar. We are a collegiate summer baseball team and play in the Coastal Plain League. Our fans are treated with first-class entertainment and continuously have been in the top 5% in attendance in summer college baseball out of more than 300 teams and even had an average attendance of better than 30% of all Minor League Baseball organizations.

The Macon Bacon are led by Managing Partner & Team President, Brandon Raphael. Brandon, who has been the President since 2018, led a group of partners to purchase the team from Steve in 2024. Brandon has more than 25 years of experience all over the country in Minor League Baseball, College Athletics and Major League Soccer.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

We are currently hiring for our next superstar in our marketing department. Depending on experience, we will be hiring a Director of Marketing & Analytics or a Manager of Digital Marketing & Analytics.

We have a Broadcast and Media Manager that is already a part of our marketing team. Skye is responsible for social media, content creation and the broadcast of the Macon Bacon.

For the Director of Marketing & Analytics position, we are looking for someone that has 3-5 years of experience in leading the efforts of marketing. Specifically, we would like someone that has worked with digital paid ads, email marketing and analytics. This person would lead the marketing department with the Bacon and have oversight of Skye's position. They will also oversee the brand of the Macon Bacon and game entertainment. The salary range for the Director role is $35,000-$45,000 and also includes a bonus tied to ticket sales generated from online efforts.

For the Manager of Digital Marketing & Analytics, we are looking for someone that is fresh out of college up to a year of experience in marketing. You will be responsible for digital ads, email marketing, analytics and game entertainment. This position would be a teammate with the other marketing position we have in Skye and would work together to reach the goals for the department, reporting to the team president. The salary for this position would be $30,000-$32,500 and would have a bonus structure tied to online ticket sales efforts.

- Oversight of the Macon Bacon brand and the growth of it throughout our fans that come to our games, building new fans and those that follow us around the world

- We have a strong presence in the digital ad space and an opportunity to grow that

Email Marketing & Strategy (Director & Manager)

- Our database is filled with fans in every capacity imaginable. Here's your opportunity to directly impact ticket sales

Data Analytics

(Director & Manager)

- Details. Details. Details. Here we build out strategy to "fish where the fish are" and put our efforts towards what the data tells us. A keen eye for curiosity is ideal here

5.

Social Media

(Skye/Director Oversight)

- We have a very strong presence on social media and the Director of Marketing will work towards growing it

6.

Website Updates/Strategy

(Director/Manager/Skye)

- Keeping our website up to date on all things Bacon related

7.

Content Creation (Skye/Director Oversight)

- Creativity is key here! Keep the Bacon sizzlin' through various content creation strategies.

8.

Game Entertainment

(Director & Manager)

- Our fans have grown accustomed to knowing they will be entertained at our games from the moment they get out of their car to when they return at the end of the evening. You will have a team surrounding you to make sure we have the best entertainment in all of summer collegiate baseball.

Regardless of which position is best for you, we're looking for someone that has the drive, determination and grit for the sports industry. Someone who is competitive and will a great teammate to others in the office. Drive, determination, a strong work ethic and grit is not something that is taught.You should have the willingness to learn. To live and breathe working in a great office culture. Positivity and coming to work every day with a smile is a must. Someone who wants to either start their career in sports or continue building it.

HOW MUCH

As mentioned above, the starting salary is commensurate with experience for either position. You will be asked in your application which position you believe best suits you.
