This is a full-time internship position for our Fall Rotation, from September 9, 2024 through December 20, 2024 in Santa Monica, CA.

The Interaction Design Intern will assist the Interaction Design team and participate as a content creating project team member on projects for BMW Brands, internal initiatives, and external clients. The intern will aid on projects across industries from automotive to consumer products to capital equipment to public transportation and infrastructure. Projects the intern will undertake will cover investigations ranging from traditional digital methods (desktop/app/screen) to new methods of interaction (AR/VR/haptics/gesture/phygital).

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Interaction Design team with contextual research for a variety of client projectsSupport the Interaction Design team with design proposals for a variety of client projectsSupport the Interaction Design team in the research and development of new tools and technologiesSupport the LA studio in internal initiatives across departmentsJoin the BMW North America team and enjoy a high-performance Total Rewards package that may include:

The hourly rate for Graduate students is $32.20

The selected student's academic level will be used to determine the final pay rate. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.

Requirements:

Currently enrolled in a bachelor or master's degree program at an accredited college or universityPossess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)Have completed at least 30 college credit hours at time of applicationField of study: Graphic Design, Interaction Design, User Experience Design (UX), or Human-Computer Interaction (HCI)Must attach a copy of college unofficial transcriptAbility to work full-time (40 hours/week)Prior BMW Group experience (applicable to international J1 students only)Proficiency in design tools like Sketch, Figma, and Adobe Creative SuiteFamiliar with prototyping tools like Figma, ProtoPie, or FramerGood verbal and written presentation skills, proficient in MS Suite (Power Point)Preferences:

Experience with 3D tools is a plus (Unreal, Cinema 4D, Blender, etc.)Experience with AI tools is a plus (Stable Diffusion, Midjourney, Runway, etc.)
