Lead Technician - Audio-Visual

The Lead AV technician must have extensive experience with installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of electronic communication systems including but not limited to video conferencing, audio visual, projection, pro audio and video control. Responsible for the safe and correct diagnosis of faults, removal, repair, test, implementation and operation of all aspects of audio visual, video conference, display and presentation technologies. Familiar with Wide Area Network (WAN), Local Area Network (LAN), wireless, wired and voice telecommunication systems is required. The candidate should have knowledge of BICSI guidelines for proper install and termination procedures. This position requires that you be able to train and supervise apprentices in a team environment while facilitating the installation of cabling and electronics. A focus on safety, quality, production and schedule is fundamental to all work performed. Employees are expected to be committed to excellence and generate a high quality of work. All employees are expected to consistently report to work on time, work well with other employees to accomplish a common goal, and maintain a safe work environment. MCA Communications will provide hard hat, safety glasses, gloves and safety vest which must be worn at all time while on the job site. Employees must provide their own basic hand tools.

Responsibilities:Able to identify and describe typical systems, their components, cables and terminations used in AV systemsAV System knowledge gained in a service or operational environmentExperience operating, troubleshooting and supporting a variety of AV systemsAbility to navigate system project files in an effort to provide and request additional supportExperience with AV tools, common test equipment, and commissioning requirementsUnderstanding of control system softwareUnderstanding of DSP and related softwareUnderstanding of media servers and content streamingUnderstanding of typical digital signage systems and associated networksKnowledge of Health and Safety rules and workplace safetyExtensive experience in operating, troubleshooting and supporting a variety of AV systemsAbility to read, understand and convey schematics from CAD filesProficient understanding of Network Architecture and IT systemsExperience with projector alignment, blending, lamp and filter changesExperience or training on Control system softwareExperience or training on DSP's and related softwareTraining on VC systems, codecs, and softwareExperience and training on typical digital signage systems, tools and associated networksExperience and training on typical Webcast delivery systems, tools and associated networksExperience in the planning, execution and delivery of Audio Visual projects within a client environmentExperience in the management of small teams

Abilities:Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time.Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.May use a standard ladder meeting osha standards while carrying tools.
