We have openings in our New York office for Architectural Designer Interns and Interior Designer Interns with a passion for thoughtful, modern design. Knowledge of environmentally sensitive building systems and products is desirable though not required. Intern Designers work directly with architects and interior designers to participate in the design and documentation process for a wide-array of project types, sizes, and complexities.

Candidates will have:

To be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Interior designThe ability to commit to full-time hours for 3 months (start/stop dates negotiable according to academic calendar)A portfolio with projects demonstrating intelligent, innovative design solutions and strong presentation graphicsExperience producing material boardsKnowledge of REVITBasic understanding of FF&E is encouragedInterest in variety of project types including commercial office, mixed-use, civic, retail, academic, and/or cultural projectsAbility to work independently as well as collaborate with a team on larger-scale projects

Responsibilities may include:

Produce graphic material and renderings for design presentationsAssist with material/finish selection; create material boardsCompile furniture presentations and specificationsMeet with vendors and consultantsCreate finish plans and elevationsAssist with composing construction documentsParticipate in site visits, including field surveysProvide support for assigned projectsCorrect and update drawings

Qualities desired to excel in this role include an ability to be facile at problem-solving, and strong presentation and communication skills. An aptitude for strong design and an ability to work on teams in a collaborative environment is also sought and valued.

Our base salary compensation for this position based on experience ranges from $25/hour to $30/hour.
