What Our Client Needs:

Our client is looking for an Art Teacher. Teachers function under the supervision of the principal. They organize an appropriate educational program following student IEPs. They implement artistic activities to develop student's individual development in perceptual and social/emotional behavior. The Art teacher provides appropriate and consistent services to the student, helping to implement educational activities.

What You'll Do:

Encourages individuals as well as groups in utilizing art as a means of developing self- expression, fine motor skills, cognitive and social developmentIntroduces art media and techniques allowing for decision making, sensory experimentation and integrationDevelops effective classroom management systemOrganizes classroom environment/lessons effectively to meet students needsUtilizes appropriate art methods/materials to help student succeedOrders/utilizes art supplies and equipmentOrganizes/utilizes art center and displays student workMaintains progress reports to evaluate student growth, behavior and needsEncourages parent/teacher/student relationshipsMaintains/turns in lesson plans weekly to the principalControls classroom in a structured/non-authoritarian wayDisciplines students while encouraging positive self-growth rather than punishmentAttends yearly Primary Restraint Technique (PRT) training.Responsible for any miscellaneous duties as assigned

What You'll Need:

Bachelor's Degree1- 3 Years ExperienceNJ Teacher CertificationExperience with children, art skills and communication skillsArt Certification (Preferred but not required)
