The Mission of the Intern Program is threefold:Offer coverage of sports at Philadelphia's six city schools, as well as Penn State football.Strengthen ties between the schools and The Inquirer - all Philadelphia institutions.Provide interns with an almost year-long experience to properly develop journalism instincts and skills.
The
Sports Video Production Intern will be responsible for creating and editing engaging video stories and short clips for use in Inquirer articles and across Inquirer Sports social media platforms. This intern will also identify and source sports journalism content suitable for various social media platforms, and work closely with the sports social media manager to post content, manage the online community, and collaborate with our Visual team on projects to learn Inquirer style and additional video skills. The Intern will work for 9 months, from mid-August to mid-May, for a total of 15 hours per week.
What You'll DoCreate and edit video stories and short clips for embedding in articles and social mediaShoot and edit b-roll and story content efficientlyProduce quick-turnaround videos optimized for social mediaIdentify sports journalism content suitable for platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTokSource, create, and post sports content across social media platformsCollaborate with the sports social media manager to ensure content alignment and engagementAssist in community management on social media platforms (Optional)
Who We're Looking ForMust be attending a college or university in PhiladelphiaSignificant editing skills with proficiency in video editing softwareExperience in shooting and editing b-roll and story contentAbility to create quick-turnaround videos tailored for social mediaUnderstanding of different social media platforms and content strategiesExperience in community management (Preferred)
