What You'll Do

The role of the Freelance Content Producer/Director (Food) is to generate social media video assets to use in ad creative. They are responsible for footage deliverables, interpreting production requests and shoot briefs into actionable filming plans.

ResponsibilitiesReceive production requests/creative briefs from Supervising Producers and develop them into production plans in partnership with the Production Management team.Identify resources needed to execute the project at the requested quality for client performance goals.Review Brand & Legal information for clients in received briefs.Convert briefs into detailed shot lists, as needed.Work with a Supervising Producer and Production Manager to assess potential production roadblocks or missing information to execute effectively.Generate assets by directing, shooting, lighting, supporting set operations, etc as assigned in pre-production.Can shoot on an iPhone, at minimum, set up basic lighting for self-contained shoots, knows what resources to ask for for shootsAttend pre-production calls and post-mortem meetings for assigned productions, as required.Ability to complete occasional on-screen food prep/creation handworkEnsure raw video assets are delivered by the deadline and with proper TubeScience quality and technical standards.Keep up-to-date with department-wide best practices (performance learnings, shooting techniques, workflow tactics, etc.).Comply with and help enforce all on-set safety protocols, set etiquette, and professional conduct standards on all productions.Develop an understanding of performance metrics and factors influencing footage performance, and consistently apply learnings to content creationResearch competitor and social media ecosystem trends and integrate findings into content creation

Required Skills and QualificationsA reel and/or portfolio showcasing a body of work to demonstrate expertise in culinary content creation/directionExpertise in culinary visual production including hands-on experience in food prep, styling, lighting and cinematographyHas an awareness of what performs well on social media and performance creative best practicesAble to interpret and apply performance/conversion-based feedback on footageSeeks guidance in adapting researched ideas to creative that performsAble to input all receipts and transactions into team budget trackers promptlyPossesses a strong understanding of the production workflow, both from a creative and technical perspectiveHas excellent communication skills, both written and verbalStrong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skillsFlexible and able to adapt to a fast-paced environmentAble to conduct themselves in a professional, remote-first environmentProficient in shooting with various camera types, including but not limited to iPhones, DSLRs, and professional-grade video cameras.Advanced understanding of lighting techniques and equipment setup for diverse shooting environments.Strong creative vision with the ability to translate creative briefs into actionable shot lists and production plans.Demonstrated expertise in directing talent as well as executing independently.Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.Adaptability and willingness to stay updated with industry best practices and department-wide guidelines.Strong commitment to on-set safety, etiquette, and professional conduct.Prior experience in performance marketing is a plus.

Compensation

TubeScience provides the wage ranges it reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for all remote roles and as otherwise required by applicable law. The expected range of starting pay for this role is $28.00 to $40.00 per hour. Actual compensation may vary within the listed range based on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, experience, and specific geographic location.
