Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an internal GEARS team member to take on the added responsibilities to act as the GEARS Facilities Design & Configuration Lead in support of the NASA Glenn Engineering and Research Support (GEARS) Contract team. As a major partner of the GEARS team, Peraton is responsible to provide multi-disciplinary engineering services to maintain, enhance and improve the facilities at the NASA John Glenn Research Center Facilities

The selected candidate, in addition to their current duties will manage the Facility Design & Configuration Branch and be responsible for the design & drafting resources that support Code FXP at NASA GRC.

Responsibilities include:

* Provide leadership and oversight including supervisory responsibilities to the group.* Develop work plans and cost estimates to complete the work per provided government work and task orders.* Assign and manage work, reporting to the GEARS prime contractor and responding to any customer feedback.* Develop and provide updates to multiple drawings types including detail fabrication drawings, schematics, isometric and assembly drawings for both mechanical and electrical systems, piping systems, process and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID's) and architectural drawings.* Support site visits to the NASA Glenn Research Center facilities to obtain system information and configuration details shall be required.* Plans, conducts, and technically supports projects or major phases of significant projects.* Reviews literature, patents, and current practices relevant to performing assigned projects.* Recommends corrections in technical applications.* Provides project status to client and company management through written status reports and verbal presentations.* Monitors deliverables and ensures adequate quality review prior to presentation to the client.* Participates in technical meetings to isolate performance issues, develop procedures for corrective action, and make recommendations for modifications.* Documents procedures for all technical aspects of assigned work.* Must be a US Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Qualifications

Required Experience:

* High school and 6 years of experience.* Experience in developing engineering drawings that document an "as-built" condition or design intent is critical.* Experience using AutoCAD software (current version is R2019)* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel)

Desired Experience:

* Experience working with NASA or other similar government agencies.* Previous leadership or supervisory experience.* Communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
