OSI Optoelectronics is seeking a Materials Expeditor to join their team. This individual will be responsible for setting and changing production schedules which maximize output of shipping revenue while maintaining on time delivery.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for moving material to and from the production floor in line with production planners expectations and production line requirements.* Acts as liaison between production floor and operations.* Maintains production status of scheduled assemblies.* Reviews material constraints with production planning and purchasing.* Facilitates and expedites the flow of materials to and from various departments.* Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.* Works under general supervision.* Ability to read and understand specification documents.* Uphold the company's core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork.* Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company's Code of Ethics and Conduct.* It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.* Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.
Qualifications
* High School Diploma or equivalent required.* 1+ years of experience in an Expeditor or similar role required.* Knowledge of automated scheduling programs.* Experience working with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Outlook) and report writing.* Good written and verbal communication skills.* Must be able to calculate simple Math (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division).* Ability to count large and small components accurately.* Ability to use Electronic scale for weight counting, Reel counter, Personal computer, Hand truck, Material carts, Pallet Jack.* Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in the business language (English).* Non telecommuting position; must have a physical presence in the production area on a daily and ongoing basis
