Central Territory Headquarters LI

Job Objective:

Serves as the assistant leader of the Central Territorial Music Creative Arts Ministries (M CAM) Department. This individual will be a present resource for the development of music and creative arts programs across the Central Territory. Essentials pillars of the M CAM Department are as follows: Inspire | Equip | Develop.

Essential Functions:

Act as project manager by driving team members' deliverables, overcoming hurdles, adhering to timelines, and ensuring project completion and evaluation.Coordinate and lead team meetings, ensuring they are productive and focused on achieving objectives.Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, helping them develop their skills and achieve their potential.Support team performance and progress, offering constructive feedback and recognizing achievements.Play an integral part in working with the Territorial Music Creative Arts Ministries Secretary in developing, implementing, coordinating, executing, and evaluating goals and plans for the M CAM Department.Act as liaison to Trade Central.Act as secretary and manager for Territorial Music Council.Supervise the maintenance of the music library.Step into the team leader role in the absence of the Territorial M CAM Secretary, ensuring continuity and maintaining productivity.

Responsibilities for ALL Music Creative Arts Ministries Employees (apart from Administrative Assistant):

Assist in the planning and execution of M CAM events.Serve as guest instructor/visitor for various corps/divisional events and camps as requested.Expected to participate in one or more territorial performing groups, either as a member and/or a leader, as assigned by the Territorial M CAM Secretary.Support the Territorial M CAM Secretary in planning, coordinating, and executing projects and tasks.May assist with teaching cadets at the College for Officer Training.May serve on Territorial Headquarters' or departmental boards, councils, commissions, and committees as advised by the Chief Secretary.Collaborate with other Territorial Headquarters departments as requested.Perform other related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications Experiences:

The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience,

skills, and/or abilities required for this position. Experience may be considered in lieu of education requirements.

Education:Master's Degree in Music, Worship Arts, Music Education, Management, or other related fields

Experience:A minimum of five successful years in teaching and leading experience within worship arts or equivalent performance opportunities. Must show growth and success within their leadership experiences. This position requires an active, uniform-wearing Salvationist.

OR: Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Skills/Abilities:

Proven successful track record of Salvation Army music leadership at the corps, divisional, and/or territorial level.Possess a thorough understanding of music and creative arts, and its purpose related to worship arts.Experience in successfully developing, executing, and developing strategic plans.Mature working knowledge of personnel management and associated procedures.High degree of integrity.Thorough knowledge of Salvation Army doctrine, mission, practice, protocol, and organizational structure.Ability to discharge the duties and responsibilities of this position consistent with the principles, standards, and Orders and Regulations of The Salvation Army.Ability to conduct the affairs of the department ethically, efficiently, and economically.Ability to meet established Territorial Headquarters employment attendance requirements.Proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly in Outlook, Teams, and Excel.Ability to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership and field personnel.

Preferred Qualifications Experiences:

Demonstrate strong leadership skills, inspiring and guiding team members to achieve their best and fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment.Management experience.Experience successfully developing Salvation Army music and creative arts programs.Talented and experienced conductor.The ability to do one or more of the following at a high level: sing, play a brass band instrument(s), guitar, piano, bass guitar, music composition/arranging/transcribing.Excellent public speaker.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position supervises the Music and Creative Arts Ministries Department in the absence of the Music and Creative Arts Ministries Secretary.

Travel:

Must be able to travel by car, air or rail as needed. This position will require approximately 20% travel, including weekends.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a varied environment which is primarily in the office. Flexibility is required to execute job functions in conference, classroom and camp settings. Full-time position may require some weekend and evening work and longer periods (from 7 to 14 days) for summer music camps and conservatories.
