Job Objective:
This position will be responsible for Producing Multimedia (audio, video, computer media and graphic arts resources with an emphasis on Video Editing and Camera Operation. Will communicate, consult and collaborate with project initiators to develop creative materials supporting the mission of The Salvation Army. The position will work with others to create additional media to support projects.
Essential Functions:
Multimedia Production
:
Manage ongoing production of a large variety of multimedia projects
Provide assistance to Visual Communications Director and Multimedia Producers on various projects
Edit and post-produce videos using professional software and hardware
Collaborate with other members of the team to ensure projects are completed on time and to the highest standard
VR and 360 video production may be needed as the technology advances
Promote and coordinate multi-media utilization, assist and consult with Territorial Headquarters (THQ) staff in the developing of productions to include planning material preparation, media selection/treatment, finished product & follow-up
Keep up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies in video production and editing to bring innovative and creative solutions to our projects
Videography and Camera Management
:
Plan and execute video shoots to capture high-quality footage
Operate a variety of cameras and equipment, including lighting, audio, and stabilization tools
Maintain and repair camera equipment, including performing routine maintenance, firmware updates, cleaning, and troubleshooting issues
Assist in the setup and breakdown of equipment before and after shoots
Manage video files and ensure they are stored in a secure and organized manner
Keep up to date with the latest technology and trends in videography and cinematography

Specific work assignments outside of those listed above will be assigned by the Multimedia Producer 2 and/or Visual Communications Director with the appropriate responsibility and authority
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in videography, film production, or a related field
5+ years of professional experience in videography and camera maintenance
Experience with live streaming, virtual events, and social media content creation is a plus
OR: Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Skills:
Ability to speak and understand English in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, employees, beneficiaries and customers and to perform the requirements of this job
Proven experience as a videographer and camera maintainer, with a strong portfolio of work
Excellent knowledge of various camera equipment and software, including but not limited to DSLR, mirrorless, studio, PTZ, cinema, and action cameras. Experience with drone camera operation is a plus
Experience with VR platforms is a plus
Proficiency in the following programs: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), digital video editing and desk top publishing, graphic arts applications is required. Demonstrated skill in use of video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or After Effects. General interest in computers and an aptitude for learning new technology will be beneficial
Ability to manage own time and the time of others to accomplish tasks
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
A passion for visual storytelling and creating compelling video content
Requires excellent interpersonal relationship skills: listening carefully to a project initiator's needs; interpreting needs into a design concept; ability to redesign concepts to satisfy the project initiator, without taking rejection of concepts personally
Supervisory Responsibility
No supervisory responsibility. Will lead Assistant Media Producers as assigned, volunteers and interns as needed to complete projects.

Physical requirements include:
Frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally. Will work inside and outside handling various equipment. Position requires lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing and/or balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
Travel:
Some travel, as assigned, will be required in this position with an average of one time per month.
Working Conditions:
Most work is performed in a typical office environment.
Some work will be performed in outdoor environments and indoor environments other than a typical office.
Full-time position that may require some weekend and evening work.
