Location: Full-time, 100% remote position (from home or co-working space) with occasional travel once every 2-3 months

The Latino Media Content Studio is seeking an experienced leader with expertise in audio media production, content creation, or broadcasting/podcast production. This individual will focus on serving diverse communities, guiding the organization's strategic vision, and inspiring teams to achieve goals. The Executive Director will demonstrate strong leadership, manage budgets, conduct financial analysis, and oversee the development of broadcast-ready multimedia content.

Here's what you could expect to do as Executive Director, Latino Media Content Studio (key responsibilities):

Operational:Manage and oversee the studio budget, ensuring financial health and sustainability.Develop future budgets in alignment with organizational goals and priorities.Collaborate with the fundraising team to devise fundraising plans for 2025 and beyond.Ensure that the vision for broadcast success aligns with the studio's strategic plan, enables successful fundraising strategies, and serves an increasing audience.Coordinate with Accelerate Change leadership on operational issues to streamline processes and optimize efficiency.Establish metrics to track and evaluate audience growth, utilizing analytics and broadcast research to inform content development and programming decisions.Work closely with legal teams to define revenue sharing agreements, exclusivity terms, and ensure compliance with 501(c)(3) regulations. Track adherence to these agreements and compliance standards.Monitor and report on progress, making adjustments to plans based on results.

Strategic & Creative Direction:Provide creative direction and vision for all audio, podcast, and radio productions.Develop a creative plan for 2025 and beyond encompassing various content formats such as affairs desk and news, podcasts, and hyper-local content to be distributed using existing and future partners.Collaborate with existing and future clients and partner on project specific strategies.Collaborate with content creators, writers, and producers to develop innovative and engaging concepts and formats.Generate ideas for features, daily spots, interviews, digital content, and podcasts, fostering innovation and creativity in content development.

Production Management:Manage the end-to-end production process, from concept development to final delivery.Coordinate production schedules, resources, and personnel to ensure timely and cost-effective execution of projects.Oversee casting, recording sessions, editing, and post-production activities, maintaining quality control throughout.Monitor project progress and budgets, addressing any issues or challenges that may arise.Set the coverage agenda for on-air and online platforms, devising plans for executing high-value reporting, podcasts, and daily current affairs and news content.Collaborate with sales, programming, and marketing teams to align content strategies with organizational objectives.Coordinate content and activities with other internal departments and external collaborators, prioritizing audience growth and service through broadcast content creation.Produce broadcast content that resonates with the target audience, ensuring quality and relevance.

Managerial:Develop a hiring plan to build a skilled and diverse team as well as a team of vetted contractors.Oversee and manage the execution of the hiring plan, ensuring recruitment of top talent.Manage employees and contractors, providing leadership, support, and guidance to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.Report to founder (Jessica Morales-Rocketto), providing regular updates on studio activities, performance, and strategic initiatives.Perform HR functions such as routine personnel evaluations, feedback sessions, and professional development planning to support employee growth and retention.

What We're Looking For

Commitment to social change. Latino Media Content Studio is a mission-driven organization focused on values-driven social change and social justice, with a focus on communities of color. You have a demonstrated commitment to this work and you'd like to be part of a team of people who do, too10+ years experience with key responsibilities: We're looking for someone who has at least 10 years of experience with media production, content creation, or broadcasting, with a focus on serving diverse communities.Academic alignment: Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, media studies, or related field (Master's degree preferred).Executive and strategic leadership experience: Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals.Excellent strategic thinking and creative problem-solving: You're a "big picture" thinker but aren't afraid to roll your sleeves up and get into the weeds and help set up your team for success.Nonprofit finance experience: You have significant prior experience providing oversight and guidance to nonprofit finance in regards to budget management and financial analysis.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills: You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.Deep understanding of Latino culture: Knowledge of Latino culture, issues, and media landscape preferred.Digital media and data/insights analysis: Familiarity with audience analytics tools and broadcast research methodologies.Benefits

$250000 - 300000 salary range, with exact salary depending on experience and new staff rarely starting at the top of the rangeFlexibility for work and life: Unlike a lot of places, we actually believe that people should only work 40 hours each week, except for occasional sprints that require more time in a week.
