The Opportunity

Lesley University's Department of Media is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach the following course:

IGAME 2205-V01 Visual Programming 2

Wed/1:15pm-5:00pm, Remote

This course builds upon Visual Programming 1 and covers advanced concepts in game design. Emphasis is on gameplay functionality and applying these techniques within a real time game engine. Programming language and syntax will be used to sketch, design, implement, and test algorithms in the creation of AI characters, as well as gameplay features such as the management of inventory systems, character abilities, and interactions. Students will learn intermediate programming functions including objects and constructors, overloading operators, strings, pointers, casting, interface inputs and outputs, and event dispatchers.

Qualities and Capabilities:

A successful candidate will have:MFA in Animation preferred, BA or BFA in Game or related field considered.Unreal Engine and Blueprint visual programming experience required;Python scripting or C++ experience preferred;Terminal degree in Game Design or related field preferred, such as an MFA, MA, or MS in Game Design;BFA, BA, or BS in Game Design or related field considered;1-2 years of teaching experience in Game Design at the college level, or two or more years of professional experience working in the game design field;Experience teaching Game Design within a Visual Arts program preferred;Names & Contact Information for two references.
