The City of Topeka is seeking a creatively-minded individual to serve as a Video Production Specialist with the Communications team. This position is responsible for providing graphic, video and audio-visual services to city departments and will work with the Communications team in the daily management functions of the government access cable television station.

What you'll do:

* Produce and edit graphic and video features for city departments for training, public information, promotion and public education.* Maintain logs of the citys social media accounts.* Produce, direct and televise government meetings.* Stay up-to-date with current and evolving systems in graphic design, video production and software.

The ideal candidate:

* Is skilled in creatively translating ideas and information into video productions.* Has technical knowledge and operation of audio/video television studio and field equipment.* Is a demonstrated self-starter with the ability to work under tight deadlines.* Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

* A Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Communications, Journalism or a closely related field is preferred.* Without a bachelors degree, a high school diploma or equivalent is required along with a combination of education and experience that is equivalent to four years.

* Two years of broadcast, cable television production, video production, journalism or a closely related field is required.* Additional licenses or certifications may be required.

Entry rate of pay: $23.07 - $27.68, DOQ
