SUMMARY:
The Marketing Specialist will assist commercial agents and support staff with the placement of both new and renewal businesses and coverages of all lines of business. The Marketing Specialist will deal very closely and directly with underwriters and brokers on behalf of the agency and agents during the process of securing coverage.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Negotiate premiums and terms for all levels of all lines of coveragePerform all necessary ratings sufficient for policy quotation and/or issuance on carrier websites or rating programs. Calculate premium when the company-rating program is availablePerform comprehensive coverage comparisons between quote terms and conditions, and past and current premiums including exposure changesFacilitate internal and external meetings when requiredCoordinate and facilitate renewal meetings with agents and CSR to determine Marketing suggestions for policy expirations.Obtain the required information throughout the Marketing process needed to secure quotes and termsParticipate in seminars and other training to maintain required licenses and for knowledge and skill development. Meet with Company representative to update carrier appetite, underwriting guidelines, etcTroubleshoot carrier and coverage matters in a professional manner with the most reasonable outcome for all parties concerned

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Ability to work within a fast-paced, changing priority environmentSelf-motivated, with the initiative to prioritize and be self-directedRegular and punctual attendance is requiredAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally, and in writingExcellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both colleagues, and managers, across all levelsAbility to promote, and maintain a team environment, willing to find accommodating solutions for our customers, companies, and the AgencyAbility to successfully adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as maintain strict confidentiality
QUALIFICATIONS:Property and Casualty Broker/Agent License3-5 Years previous commercial property and casualty experience preferredBachelor's degree in Business, or other related fields, preferredCISR or other related insurance designations preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS AND REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS:Fast-paced, multi-tasking, office environment with periodic high disruption and changing prioritiesAbility to perform approximately 80% sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and negligible force frequentlyAbility to lift up to 20 pounds occasionallyRequires operation of a computer workstation, including keyboard and video displayAll requirements may be modified to reasonably accommodate physical or mental impairment
