The Design Technician / Spooler is responsible for supporting the design for fabrication process by generating and maintaining fabrication and field installation drawings based on the coordinated model. engineering design, specifications, and materials and equipment submittals to meet the project needs and M.C.Dean's constructability objectives.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:Review the electrical and low voltage systems coordination modelsReview and/or support production of shop drawings in accordance with the company and project standardsDefine fabrication assemblies based on established standards and coordination with installation and fabrication leadsUse automated and manual processes to generate assembly-level viewsIdentify and escalate design defects, if anyGenerate, annotate, and publish assembly-level fabrication drawingsProcess design review comments, correct deficiencies, ensure compliance wiht the standard design control procedures

Essential knowledge and skills:

Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and related concepts is desirable.

Working knowledge of design softwareAutodesk RevitAutodesk AutoCADBlueBeamMS Office

Experience:Drafting experience with the listed tools is strongly desired

Experience:High School diploma or GED are required with 3 years of experience; AAS desired.
