The Lumistella Company is seeking a Part Time Editor to join our team! The Part Time Editor plays a pivotal role in supporting the SEP-Animated Team, Art, and Marketing by crafting and editing engaging video content. Reporting to the Producer of Scout Elf Productions, this role focuses on editing high-quality assets for various internal and external uses, including promotional videos, social media content, and internal communications.

The Part Time Editor is responsible for translating creative ideas/scripts into cohesive visual narratives, ensuring that each video aligns with the artistic vision and meets high-quality standards. Key responsibilities include collaborating with various teams to develop and execute video projects, incorporating feedback to refine content, and communicating project schedules effectively. This role requires a strong background in video editing, a keen eye for storytelling and continuity, and proficiency with industry-standard software such as Premiere and After Effects.

The ideal candidate will possess at least 3 years of video editing experience, particularly with animated and marketing content. They should demonstrate excellent communication skills, creative problem-solving abilities, and a flexible approach to handling multiple tasks and deadlines. An extensive portfolio showcasing edited pieces is required, along with the ability to adapt quickly to the brand's unique style and requirements.

The ideal Part Time Editor will bring:The Part Time Editor is responsible for supporting SEP-Animated Team, Art, and Marketing on the creation and/or editing of content for internal/external videos:

Internal-facing Videos for meetings/events, such as Staff Meetings, Lumiversity, Team Presentations, and Company EventsExternal-facing Videos, such as Tradeshows, Partner Presentations, LinkedIn, Co-CEO Content and Podcasts, Product Sales Full Turnaround Videos, and Marketing Product VideosOriginal Content, such as Social Media Posts, Promos, Trailers, Animated Music Videos, Shorts, Episodic Series, and Digital Content.

Receives constructive feedback, revises elements according to creative notes, and delivers revisions on time;May be called upon to quickly edit during meetings;Creates and edits assets for use on social media and other marketing initiatives;Protects company assets through the proper management of asset files and adherence to company policy with regard to information security and management.Works with Producer to manage requests, schedule/track projects, and communicates any conflicting deadlines to prioritize work and meet expectations;Tracks hours in provided weekly Timesheets and works within the agreed upon timeframe/hours; and does not work overtime without written agreement from Producer or Sr. Director of Storytelling and Marketing, Series, and Digital Content.

Essential Job Functions and Duties of the Part Time Editor:

A minimum of 3 years of experience in video editing; experience with entertainment and animated content required, and experience with marketing initiatives preferred;

Extensive knowledge of storytelling, editing, and continuity;

Experience with 2D and 3D Animation production processes required;

Knowledge of editing software, such as Premiere and After Effects, and other applicable software required;

Ability to receive constructive criticism and make artistic adjustments;

Creative problem-solving skills required;Excellent verbal and written communication skills;Extensive portfolio with examples of current, edited pieces required;Must be able to quickly learn the brand and develop a deep understanding of the characters and world;

Strong, clear communication skills including active listening;

Flexible and adaptable to changing needs;

Organized, punctual, and capable of juggling many tasks at the same time;

Comfortable asking questions and eager to learn; and

Works well under pressure - rises to the occasion.

Education requirements:Bachelor's degree in Film, Mass Communications, or a Related Field preferred.

Working Conditions:Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust or temperature changes.Requires sitting for extended periods of time, standing, visual acumen, and manual dexterity for working with computer keyboards.Position requires presence in the office consistent with the company's Work from Home policy and whenever necessary to fulfill the functions of the role.
