Examples of Duties
Materials Management Volunteers:(Training will be provided in one or more of the following):
* Shelving in Children's section* Shelf reading--checking sections of shelves to make sure they're in order* Straightening books and media on shelves so patrons can find them more easily* Children's materials cart ordering* Possible additional work available in Adult Fiction, Adult Nonfiction and Holds Shelving
Typical Qualifications
* Friendliness and respect toward people from diverse backgrounds, cultures and abilities* Able to work a minimum of 1 weekly shift of 2 hours and be able to communicate to department supervisor when unable to work an upcoming shift.* Other qualifications will be discussed in the interview according to the volunteer position.
