Job Summary:
The Structural Designer performs assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering skills. Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
Using prescribed methods, a Structural Designer performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer. A Structural Designer applies standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Structural calculations as directed* Plan layout and detail development as directed* Develop working knowledge of analysis and plan production software (AutoCAD/Revit)* Approval drawing review* Very limited client communication as directed* Gradual evolution to the design and drawing assembly for complete buildings of moderate scale
