The Field Marketing Specialist will help drive same-store sales by developing and suggesting innovative marketing strategies across the A&W trade areas, with a focus on new restaurant openings and new restaurant owners. By knowing the local markets, they will create the most efficient strategy for building sales using a mix of off the shelf marketing programs and customized partnerships, sponsorships, and events. A successful Field Marketing Specialist will earn the trust of their Franchise Partners and company leaders by spending time in the markets, developing an expert level of market knowledge, and creating a comprehensive highlight reel of marketing wins for each market.

The Field Marketing Specialist should

expect 50%

travel anywhere within the United States. This position will report to the Sr. Brand Manager.

Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.1. Act as the primary marketing contact for all new restaurant openings and restaurant ownership transfers.

Develop and present how-to marketing materials for new restaurant openings and grand opening events.2. Collaborate cross-functionally to plan and bring field marketing initiatives to life.3. Facilitate open lines of communication with Franchise Partners, Franchise Growth Leaders (FGLs), and the Restaurant Support Center team.4. Provide tactical execution support for marketing initiatives.5. Align with the FGLs/Operations team to increase marketing strategy adoption.6. Build strong relationships with Franchise Partners by being visible and available in the field.7. In collaboration with the Local Store Marketing Manager, develop local store marketing strategies and work one-on-one with franchisees to assist with local store marketing planning via in-person meetings/presentations and conference calls.8. Provide ongoing coaching to franchisees and the A&W FGL/Operations team regarding various marketing plans, programs, and tools while providing excellent customer service to individuals at all organizational levels.9. Serve as a brand ambassador.

Supervisory ResponsibilityThe Field Marketing Specialist has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Physical DemandsThis role is active when in the field and the restaurants, including inspecting, adjusting, or assisting in the set-up of various marketing materials. This role requires large amounts of travel, including a lot of time in a vehicle or a plane. When not traveling, the Field Marketing Specialist will be expected to report to our headquarters, where there will be desk work, standing, and bending. Additionally, all corporate employees will be asked to work in the company-owned restaurants at least two times a year for shifts lasting 4-9 hours. Standing, cleaning, and fast-paced mobility are expected during restaurant work.

Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. When not traveling, this role would be expected to adhere to A&W Restaurants, Inc.'s hybrid and flexible work policy. Work hours should fall sometime between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, with some weekend and evening events required. This position would be expected to report to our Lexington, KY, headquarters. Schedules are subject to supervisor and/or Company approval.

Required Education and Experience1. Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communication, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be accepted.2. 2+ years of marketing experience, including knowledge of point-of-purchase and print coupons/promotional materials.3. Strong analytical skills and ability to measure, analyze, report on, and distill recommendations from data.4. Exceptional personal computing skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and advanced Internet research skills.5. Proven experience garnering buy-in and building relationships.Preferred Education and Experience1. Field marketing experience is strongly preferred.2. Restaurant/Food service/Franchising experience
