About The Team The Advertising Team is reinventing advertising at eBay We're creating innovative ad-tech solutions to optimize the ad monetization and experience on eBay. Our goal is to create a valuable experience for both buyers and sellers, while also driving performance for advertisers. To that end, we are innovating rapidly in the ad-tech space and there is no shortage of new challenges for motivated individuals. About The Role As a Frontend Engineer, you will work closely with designers, product managers, and other engineers (frontend, backend, machine learning, quality) to revolutionize the advertising space for eBay and beyond. You will also work on backend related projects 30% of the time. Read about some of our products and recent work here: Promoted Listings eBay Advertising Job Responsibilities Design new experiences for eBay sellers and advertisers to promote their products, manage their advertising campaigns, and improve their sales Build highly available, scalable user-facing applications and RESTful Public APIs Develop systems using Node.js, Java & Scala Learn new external and internal technologies as the need/opportunity arises Operate within our internal open source community where we share a variety of projects and codebases Build, test, and deploy your code in a continuous manner Execute as part of a cross-functional Agile team that rapidly delivers iterative value to customers Contribute to technical conversations and debates, and decide upon approaches and tools to utilize Lead by example and share knowledge with the team Job Requirements BS/BA in Computer Science or related field plus 5 years work experience or MS with 3 years of relevant experience JavaScript (ES6), HTML / CSS, CSS Preprocessor is a plus (Less or Sass) Unit test with mock (Jest or Jasmine preferred), Automation testing is a plus NodeJS (Express desired), Knowing ReactJS and Redux is a plus Experience with Node.js, Javascript, Java, Scala, Oracle/NOSQL DBs Experience in building large scale Web Services and Backend Applications using Java/J2EE, RESTful Web Services, HTTP and JSON technologies Knowledge of core CS concepts such as common data structures and algorithms Full stack experience developing in Scala/Python and working with Hadoop and related tools is a plus Code samples from private GitHub repos, side projects, and open source project contributions is a plus The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below: $114,800 - $176,550 Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
