Job Overview:

The Social Media & Marketing Manager of The Rugby Network is responsible for developing engaged social media audiences at scale, while also building and executing go-to-market campaigns targeting event promotion and subscription offers for a growing portfolio of rugby streaming properties and on the TRN platform.

With input from the General Manager, TRN and other marketing leaders, the candidate will manage the production process for multiple concurrent projects, both long and short-term with different levels of production need. They will develop and manage the day-to-day editorial and promotional content calendar, collaborate with internal and external creative teams to produce social content, and execute real-time social media coverage of live, Same-Day-Delayed (SDD) events, and special coverage, original programming.

As the TRN marketing manager, the ideal candidate will be deeply involved in all aspects of fan engagement, content promotion, and communication designed to drive traffic to OTT, mobile and web platforms through internal and external channels including managing paid digital ads, copywriting, strategic planning and tactical execution.

Key Responsibilities:Advise leadership on go-to-market planning for upcoming campaigns using the extremely high judgment on platform and editorial trends (engagement, content inclusion, marketing levers)Pitch, develop and plan social creative that drives high engagement before, during and after live events (subscription and free content)Oversee, contribute to, and execute social editorial and promotional calendar for TRN social channel, with special attention to properties associated with TRN OTT portfolioExercise strong editorial judgment to recognize and curate socially-relevant moments both in TRN programming streams and around the sports landscape associated with the sport of rugby, applying tools to optimize posts for each platformCommunicate clearly and effectively with agency partners as neededCollaborate with MLR and other league or team partners' brand social team and other cross-functional teams to deliver meaningful impact for games, events and special momentsUtilize insights and reporting to recommend changes to content and strategic approachBuild relationships and become a trusted partner with the external leagues/organizations we work withContribute to the maintenance of TRN CMS as necessaryIdentify and drive revenue-generating opportunities through partnerships, advertising, and other means.Owns the creation and posting of all social media content related to TRNDirect and manage third-party creators as applicableCreate and manage all email communications to drive viewership and maintain high open ratesCoordinate with MLR's VP of Marketing & team on marketing campaigns to promote The Rugby Network effectively to drive commercial value for the league and subscribersCollaborate with external partners for paid media execution to reach subscriber goals and enhance brand visibility.Create campaign graphics and content that resonate with the target audience.Identify subscriber, The Rugby Network+, viewership, and social media goals, driving strategies to achieve them.Develop a strategic plan to increase followers and engagement across all The Rugby Network social accounts.Oversee the fan profile digital dashboard, regularly reporting insights to MLR front office and teams for informed decision-making.Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

Experience:

Energetic, self-starter with 3+ years experience in digital media, social media or content curation in fast-paced environments (inclusive of photo, video across all platforms)A deep passion for sports, storytelling and the overall Internet cultureExperience maintaining multiple editorial calendars concurrentlyExperience editing copy, long and short form and press release copyExperience reading and applying data and metrics to drive improvements and changes to social approach. Maximize efficiency and ROI on initiativesComfortable communicating with cross-functional teamsExperience with content production tools, such as, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere, and Live-Clipping toolsUnderstands that the world of sports includes a willingness to work nights and weekends as necessaryPreference for a passion for rugby and a deep understanding of the sport's culture, community, and fan base.
