About the Team:
Building a world where people can safely discover, create and connect. The Trust & Safety (T&S) team at TikTok helps ensure that our global online community is safe and empowered to create and enjoy content across all of our applications. We have invested heavily in human and machine-based moderation to remove harmful content quickly and often before it reaches our general community.

As a Head, you will be leading a high-performing team in driving policy enhancement and implementation to ensure the safety of our users. You will also be an expert in the policy space and have an in-depth understanding on the impact of technology, media, and cultural trends on policy. You will be a key organizer and influencer, leading a team in driving policy implementation to uphold the highest standards of online safety.

It is possible that this role will be exposed to harmful content as part of the core role/as part of project/ in response to escalation requests/by chance. This may occur in the form of images, video, and text related to every-day life, but it can also include (but is not limited to) bullying; hate speech; child safety; depictions of harm to self and others, and harm to animals.

Responsibilities:
- You will lead a high-performing policy team, manage cross-team relations and optimize policy development, iteration & implementation procedures to deliver high-quality results;
- You'll craft and assist in developing content policies for our global community on the TikTok platform;
- You'll collaborate with Global Public Policy, Product, Operations, Legal, and Public Relations teams to improve content policies and streamline enforcement policies and processes;
- You will act as a global escalation point of contact, align all stakeholders, and respond to emergency content safety-related cases.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
- You have strong people management experience in leading small/medium diverse teams;
- You have an academic background in Public Policy, Law, or related experience;
- You have significant experience in content policy, policy enforcement, or public policy, specifically in technology/social media/content space;
- You have experience with international Internet / social media/content issues;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
