Read all the information about this opportunity carefully, then use the application button below to send your CV and application.ABOUT THE POSITIONSenior Site Design Manager - EducationVHB has an immediate need for a Senior Site Design Manager - Education to help expand our growing institutional practice in the Mid-Atlantic region. The successful candidate must be knowledgeable in education (Higher-ed and K-12) capital project design/permitting and/or education campus planning and design with existing relationships and contacts at the decision-making level within the region. In addition to aiding in the development of a market growth strategy, the Education Sector Leader will be responsible for managing key client relationships, coordinating project teams, and overseeing education and other key institutional projects in the region. The position requires a proven ability to develop business, establish meaningful client relationships, manage projects, and coach and mentor staff.ResponsibilitiesConducts market research and analysis and collaborates with the Regional Market Leader and regional leadership team to set a vision and strategy for the education sector within the regionProactively leads the strategy and actions necessary to further build and grow a dynamic team of institutional focused industry professionals that includes civil engineers, structural engineers, transportation planners and designers, environmental permitting specialists, geomatics specialists, and technologistsGenerates new business development opportunities and strategizes, leads, and delivers winning technical proposalsSets the strategic direction and drives tactical initiatives that will further strengthen and enhance the existing education practice in the regionPartners with the Regional Institutional Market Leader and Regional Marketing Director to lead go/no-go and strategic partnering decisions on key pursuitsProvides key client relationship and contract management leadershipServe as Principal-in-Charge or Senior Project Manager on select education and other key institutional projectsEstablishes and tracks project milestones as well as quarterly business goalsTeams with the Regional Marketing Director to plan, coordinate, and participate in external visibility/promotional effortsSkills And AttributesMust have a demonstrated track record of successfully delivering education campus projects, generating new business, maintaining an existing network of industry contacts, and preparing winning proposalsMust be knowledgeable in education campus planning and/or capital project engineering and executionMust bring a strong bias for action and drive business performance focusing on sustained successExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsExternal market presence and strong market visibility activityStrong presentation skillsExcellent teamwork and collaboration skills including the ability to coach and mentor staff and successfully manage and coordinate integrated services projectsCritical thinker, must demonstrate a superior ability to facilitate collaborative problem solving with clients, partners, and key project stakeholdersQualificationsSuccessful candidate will have a minimum of 10-15 + years of relevant experience in education campus planning and/or engineering and project managementCandidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, transportation planning, environmental planning, or a related field; Master’s degree is preferredProfessional license or certification is preferredExperience managing teams and coaching staff membersMust possess strong communication and project management skillsRegional Education Sector Leader is a full-time position. To support market team effectiveness and positive team building, role requires that a minimum of 50% of time be deployed ‘in-office’.We are VHB!
