Editor-in-Chief

The Fuller Project seeks an experienced newsroom leader to serve as Editor in Chief (EIC). The EIC will be responsible for setting and executing an editorial vision aligned with the organization’s mission and strategy, and will have full autonomy and control over journalistic decisions and priorities. They will oversee major investigative projects, inspire our journalists to do their best work, and manage partnerships with leading U.S.-based and global outlets.The EIC will uphold the highest standards of independent, non-partisan, rigorous journalism. Reporting to the CEO and with a close working relationship with a Board Editorial Committee, the EIC will uphold and advance our mission and values; will be a creative team player; and will have or be able to quickly build expertise about issues that particularly impact women.The ideal candidate will have significant experience leading complex projects and collaborations and will be able to oversee U.S. and global reporting and manage partnerships with other news organizations. They will have demonstrated rigorous journalistic standards; strong writing, editing, and organizational skills; excellent management and leadership experience; and a commitment to meaningfully covering underrepresented issues and groups.Inside the newsroom, the EIC will cultivate a collaborative spirit among our committed and talented editors and reporters, drawing on a proven commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility and belonging.
