Executive Director, HIV Global Strategic Marketing

is responsible for the successful development and execution of a global commercial strategy that maximizes the overall value and access in current and pending indications. This person will act as a commercialization leader and lead commercial inputs into development and commercialization decisions. Communications and engagement with senior leaders across all relevant enterprise functions will be essential, ensuring pre-launch, launch, and in-market deliverables and initiatives are aligned with overarching brand strategic objectives.Key responsibilities include:Lead a cross-geography strategy and execution team to develop, deliver, and execute short and long-term, integrated, global commercial vision, strategy, and global action plans.Develop strong and close working relationships with key Gilead markets (G9) and cross-functional partners (Medical Affairs, Global Decision Sciences and Insights, Public Affairs, Government Affairs, Value and Access, Clinical Development, Competitive Intelligence, Legal, and Regulatory Affairs).Serve as Commercialization Team Leader, working with cross-functional counterparts and regional commercial and medical leads to co-create and implement annual global Indication Strategic Plan (ISP) and Global Plan of Action (GPOA) that inform country-specific HIV treatment and prevention POAs, maximizing value, access, and market expansion.Effectively incorporate market intelligence and commercial perspectives into development, evidence generation, publication, and access strategies.Oversee the development and execution of global campaigns, including the development of a differentiating strategy, unique branding, compelling positioning, and key messaging that develops a global market position and supports early and sustained growth.Identify, analyze, and translate brand, customer, and market insights to frame and solve key business problems and build effective marketing plans.Lead materials development to support Earnings Calls, Global LE Guidance, and input to long-range forecast planning.Lead a team of direct and/or indirect reports through coaching, development, and inclusion to high levels of performance and engagement.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree and Fourteen Years’ Experience OR Masters' Degree and Twelve Years’ Experience OR PhD and Twelve Years’ Experience.Preferred Qualifications:At least 15 years of relevant commercial leadership experience—leading through others directly and indirectly-- in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, including local and global product strategic planning, portfolio and lifecycle brand management, tactical marketing, and new product planning and launches.HIV and/or PrEP specific experience and market knowledge.Experience working within or across multiple key markets.Demonstrated ability to conceive, develop, and implement multi-dimensional marketing and business plans.Creative and solutions-oriented mindset.Experience leading cross-functional integrated strategies and partnering with Governmental Affairs, Public Affairs, Medical Affairs, R&D, V&A, GDSI, Legal and Regulatory partners.Prior experience in value and access or government affairs functions is an asset.Consumer/Direct to Consumer experience is preferred.Effective, concise communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated success in influencing desired outcomes with executive decision-makers.Strong analytical skills, demonstrated by the ability to identify and interpret complex issues and provide appropriate recommendations to senior management and across functional areas.Ability to influence, motivate, and persuade others; skilled facilitator, negotiator, and counselor.Experience with the development process and its relevant inputs.B.A. or B.S. required, MBA and/or advanced degree in life sciences or medical degree preferred.People Leader Accountabilities:Create Inclusion - knowing the business value of diverse teams, modeling inclusion, and embedding the value of diversity in the way they manage their teams.Develop Talent - understand the skills, experience, aspirations, and potential of their employees and coach them on current performance and future potential. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
