ArtCenter College of Design is searching for an experienced Graphic Designer to join our team.

The salary range for this position: $65,000.00 - 72,000.00

Finalsalary is based on education, experience, skills relevant to therole, and internal equity.

Reporting to the design director, the graphic designer is responsible for designing a variety of digital and analog communications for the College from concept to completion, including websites, electronic communications, HTML email campaigns, web-based advertising, design for social media platforms and video titles, and motion graphics, as well as some printed materials and environmental graphics. The incumbent will consult with clients and analyzes their needs, research software options to address technical challenges, and investigates possible design approaches. The graphic designer conceptualizes design solutions that prioritize user experience, clear visual communication, contemporary design aesthetics and the brand identity of the College, drawing on deep knowledge of typography, composition, structural systems and other core principles of design, and follows through to presentation, refinement, production and final delivery. This position will also employ knowledge of current developments in interaction design, front-end development skills and creative coding to create integrated design solutions that position the College at the forefront of contemporary interactive practice. The graphic designer works closely with the art director/senior designer and other Marcom team members and IT staff and advises on current best practices in interactive design. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the technical aspects of digital design work, and an interest in the creative possibilities in coding.

This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The position is eligible for flexible scheduling and can be performed hybrid with the expectation of at least 2-3 days in the office or required as a condition of employment. The college reserves the right to modify schedules as needed to meet the business needs with appropriate notice.

Operational - 95%

Develop integrated design solutions in alignment with the visual identity of the CollegeWork through design process from concept to development and refinementCollaborate with staff and freelance designers, editors, and print and digital production staff.Collaborate with photographers, videographers and illustrators as neededWork closely with partners/clients as needed throughout the design processCatalog and file all materials in a logical and easily accessible manner; ensure they are continuously up to dateCreatively seek out new products and maintain cutting edge industry knowledgeWork on special projects, initiatives, promotions and other programs as neededMarginal (Non-essential) Job Functions - 5%

Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting with frequent interruptions and distractions; extended periods of time viewing computer monitor; interactions with other individuals. Due to the nature of the work environment, there is regular exposure to fumes, chemicals, dust and noise.

Physical: The position is generally sedentary. Employees sit most of the time, but may walk or stand for brief periods of time. Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 20 pounds); to operate modern office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. This position also requires occasional lifting, transporting and operating video equipment including tripods, lighting units, cameras and sound gear. Vision: Must be able to have the visual capacity to perform activities such as preparing and reading reports, viewing a computer terminal and other normal office work with or without correction.
