JOB OVERVIEW:

Under the direction of the General Manager of Marketing, the Assistant Manager of Marketing designs and implements market research and analysis to inform marketing strategy and policy planning for the Trade Development Division.

JOB DUTIES:

Assist the General Manager of Marketing to serve as a backup support as needed.Identifies and utilizes relevant contacts and data sources for market research, analysis, and business development projects.Researches and prepares detailed analysis to identify potential GPA business opportunities and impacts within country trade lanes and commodity groupings.Responsibilities include:Timely and accurate reporting and analysis of market share and trends.Regular updates of profiles for Ports, Carriers, Services, and Shippers.Prompt and precise handling of internal and external data and reporting requests.Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of specialized marketing databases sourced from identified data sources.Identifying key markets and business development opportunities and preparing targeted transportation analyses.Overseeing the creation of presentations for stakeholders, including the Board of Directors, Shippers, Carriers, and Third-Party Logistics companies.Managing the master list of industry conferences and events for Trade Development, coordinating all aspects of conference and event sponsorship, including booth logistics, collateral material design and production, and ensuring event representatives are fully prepared.Maintaining open and effective communication with Trade Development staff and other GPA divisions to address their market information needs.Assisting in the development and maintenance of economic and trade forecasts pertinent to GPA’s long-term strategic plan and annual budget preparation.JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesAbility to assemble, analyze, and discern key trends from complex data and convert this information into appropriate written and oral recommendations.Ability to initiate extensive studies related to world trade, transportation logistics, and regional impact.Ability to work independently and effectively manage time.Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Access and PowerPoint required.Works well under pressure and meets deadlines.Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills required.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively and professionally with GPA staff on all levels of administration as well as internal and external customers in order to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment.Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel as needed.

Experience

4-6 years experience in market research and statistical analysis, with exposure to international business, trade, and economic development PreferredEducation

Preferred Bachelor's Degree in marketing, economics, or related fieldLicenses Certifications

TWIC - Transportation Worker Identification Credential Required Upon HireDriver's License - Valid state driver's license Required Upon Hire
