FLSA: Exempt (not eligible for overtime in compliance with Federal and State regulations)

Pay Range: $55,000-$65,000*

About the Augustine Institute:

Augustine Institute Studios is seeking a Junior Motion Graphics Designer. Please submit a resume and reel that features a good sampling of your current stylistic sensibilities and technical competencies.

Augustine Institute Studios is the full-feature film production house of the Augustine Institute, a Catholic organization. A strong understanding of Catholicism is a must; a faithful Catholic identity is a plus. You will work under the daily direction of the creative and logistic leads of each project. As with any non-profit organization, multiple hats will be worn that extend to the wider world of filmmaking.

This full-time position will work out of the Augustine Institute home office in Greenwood Village, Colorado, and includes full benefits, and the availability of daily Mass in our chapel. However, it is required that this candidate be open to relocation when our Studios team moves to our new campus in St. Louis.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented and creative Junior Motion Graphics Designer to join our dynamic Studios team. This is an entry-level position that offers the opportunity to grow and develop your skills under the mentorship of our Senior Motion Graphic Designer. The ideal candidate will have a strong creative eye, a passion for visual storytelling, and experience with graphics applications.

Key Responsibilities:• Assist in the creation of motion graphics for various projects, including video content, digital ads, social media, and educational materials.• Collaborate closely with the Senior Motion Graphic Designer to conceptualize and execute engaging animations and visual effects.• Edit and refine video content using Adobe Premiere Pro, ensuring a high level of

quality and consistency with the Augustine Institute’s brand standards.• Work with the Studios team to brainstorm and develop visual concepts that align with project goals.• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in motion graphics, design, and visual storytelling.• Participate in team meetings, project reviews, and feedback sessions to ensure alignment and continuous improvement.• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities• Experience with MS365 (including Outlook, Word, and Excel)• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a productive and collaborative team member.• Possesses knowledge of the Augustine Institute's mission and products.• Excellent skills and abilities in communicating and interacting professionally, both verbally and in writing• Ability to accurately follow verbal and written instructions• Ability to lift and assist with hands-on projects, including light maintenance projects, moving sets or equipment, etc.• Ability to consistently demonstrate the Augustine Institute’s core values including:

Qualifications:• Proficiency in Adobe After Effects, with a solid understanding of keyframe animation, masking, and compositing.• Design skills with Adobe Illustrator• Basic experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, including video editing, color correction, and audio syncing.• A strong creative eye and the ability to translate ideas into compelling visuals.• Basic understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory.• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.• A portfolio showcasing your motion graphics and video editing work.• Ability to take direction, work independently, and collaborate with a team.• Eagerness to learn and grow within a creative environment.

Preferred Qualifications:• Experience with other Adobe Creative Suite programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator.• Understanding of 3D animation software like Cinema 4D (a plus, but not required).• Previous internship or freelance experience in motion graphics or video editing.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, typing and use of office equipment, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. The employee may also be required to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including inclement weather.
